Hi Jan,

I had my conversion done by Lifepixel in the US (check out thier website - very informative)

It cost me, in 2009, £325 for the conversion + lens calibration. Plus there was carriage on top + I also got stabbed for an addition £40 by uk customs n excise when it came back into the country

Lifepixel seem to have an offer on at the moment so conversion + lens calibration is about £240

Thanks Dave, I will go check out their website but that, sadly is above what I can afford at the moment but nice to have that in mind.

Thank you for the helpful reply.

Theres a few other options you could look at

1) Dont get a lens calibration - thats $125 off the base line straight away
(though you will have a lot of learning to do about adjusting focus manually)
2) There are companies in the UK that do the conversions that might be worth checking
3) Lifepixel sell DIY conversion kits which are much cheaper - I personally didnt have
the confidence to strip a camera down but I know Mark is more than capable.
4) There are usually quite a few converted cameras for sale on ebay quite cheaply.
Often they are Sony 'bridge' cameras or 'point and shoots' but they do give good results

Hey Dave, Thank you re the other options. I have been talking to Mark about this and he is able to convert displaying b&w images only but then he shared me a link to your gallery and i was omg I want tones! Trust me.

I will definitely have a peek on ebay to see what is about, thank you for that option!

To do it myself is just not an option and neither is focusing manually, sadly my vision isn't all it used to be sadly. Pah will get there one day.

I really appreciate you listing all this, thank you very much
Jan x
